Appletons Creative Framers, a nationally award winning framer, opened in 1987 in the growing city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. With customer service and product at the very top of the industry, Appletons has spent the last three decades building a customer base that continues to grow to this day.
William Brison (the owner) began painting in high school but really didn't pursue his art until later in his life. Twenty five years passed before he picked up his own brushes again and he has been painting oils and water colours every since. When the urge to paint resurfaced, he studied privately with several talented professionals including Charles Brindley, Lisa Towers, Jason Saunders, Ann Blair Brown, Jill Carver, Doug Braithwaite, Roger Dale Brown, Bill Davison, and Lori Putnam. He has also studied for two years with premier watercolorist, friend, and teacher, Dean Shelton.
Much of William's work today is from the travels he and his wife have taken or from the places he hopes to visit someday.
He has been featured in numerous juried shows in both Tennessee and Kentucky.
William is a member of the Chesnut Group, plein air painters, who raise funds creating art from historic as well as vanishing landscapes across Tennessee.
It is his hope that his original art will bring joy to your home or office for many years to come.
